CORBOND® insulation has the highest performance R-Factor achievable for an insulation product on today's market. The innovative product isolates the indoor and outdoor climates, stopping air movement and controlling moisture condensation and movement within walls and roof cavities helping to eliminate mold growth. Unparalleled in its proprietary formulation, it outperforms any glass fiber blanket in severe conditions, R for R in all categories of heat loss (or gain). The end result is that you build an energy efficient structure for your clients, providing them with a cost-effective and simple solution to runaway heating and cooling expenses.
There are other advantages for you, the architect, builder, developer and building owner.. Because CORBOND® is a self hardening spray-on insulation, it has unique characteristics in that it cannot shrink or settle and is integrally attached into the cavity. You can also have full design and construction flexibility because a 2x4 wall will provide super efficient insulation performance, which means that you are not constrained by excessive wall or roof thickness requirements. And Corbonded cathedral ceilings/roofs require no venting.
This high performance insulation and climate isolator also enables you to build stronger structures. Because of its ability to fully adhere to the structure, forming a solid bun between studs, the building becomes extremely stiff and strong. The concept is much like completely gluing every piece of the house or building frame together. Along with the natural sealing characteristics of CORBOND® comes an added benefit of noise reduction. It helps to block exterior sounds such as automobiles, wind, airplanes and any other outside disturbances, giving you a remarkably quiet building.
CORBOND® must be installed by professionals. The two component ingredients are pumped out of a proportioner, into a hose, then sprayed into the wall cavity. It goes from a warm liquid state (when the raw materials of polyol resin and an activator are mixed at the spray gun), to an expansion phase (when the blowing agent boils and creates bubbles). Then the bubbles begin to solidify, and finally the product hardens to its solid form. This all happens within a matter of 5 to 7 seconds. The unique, trademarked lavender color of CORBOND® make it easily distinguishable from all other insulation products.
